MD Projects UK
Lisheen Mine — Jamie Barrett, Surface & Underground Safety Officer
MD Projects Uk have worked on and off at Lisheen Mine for nearly 20 years, ranging from installation of all our main Ventilation Shafts and Emergency Access ways, development & construction of our new €1.5million underground mobile plant maintenance workshops. During their time with us they also decommissioned all 9 of our ventilations shafts ranging from 120m to 240m deep. This included the removal of all HT cable, all 10” water lines & Alimak Emergency Lifts.
We at Lisheen always found the guys very accommodating while working at our mine and would have no problem in recommending them for work anywhere in the world. Their Safety standards were always excellent and they were always striving to improve with every new job they undertook. These men and their company are certainly at the top of their game. Thanks guys!
Fugro Seacore Ltd — Gary Jago, Project Engineer
In November 2011 MD Projects Uk were contracted by Fugro Seacore Limited (FSCL) to provide hydraulic and mechanical fitting expertise and manpower to assist with the installation of a brand new offshore heave-compensated marine drill. The drill, the R140 was installed on board the Japanese government owned ‘MV Hakurei’ which was built specifically for seabed mineral exploration.
The drill was shipped to Japan from the UK and arrived in a series of shipments from late November 2011 through to early January 2012. The drill was completed and handed over to the client in January 2012 after which is successfully completed sea trials in February 2012. MD Projects Uk arrived in Japan in November 2011 and worked with the FSCL installation team throughout, including the Christmas/New Year period, and left Japan in late January following completion of the installation. MD Projects expertise, professionalism, and dedication to the job was critical to the success of the project. FSCL would not hesitate to contact MD Projects Uk for assistance with future projects.

During their time on site MD Projects Uk adhered to all the strict mine site safety rules and procedures; prior to commencement of work they produced risk assessments and method statements and as a result none of their employees were involved in any incident or injury.
